The Global Classroom

This Global Classroom is part of a digital educational series of events carried out by the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry School of Pharmacy, Saarland University Germany, and supported by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). This project began in September 2020 and has been tested in the winter semester 2020 / 2021  with up to 100 students from six different countries (Georgia, Ghana, Moldova, Northern Macedonia, Syria, and  Ukraine). With the help of the Microsoft Teams software,  lectures, seminars, tutorials, and individual mentoring are offered globally for an international audience. The Global Classroom Summer Semester 2021 is running until August 2021 and encompass over 200 students from 24 institutes at 14 different countries (Armenia, Gaza strip, Georgia, Ghana, Greece, Russia, Latvia, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Morocco, Syria, Pakistan and Poland)

The Global Classroom at the Saarland University is organized by Team Biorganic; Prof. Dr. Claus Jacob, Mr. Yaman Abdin, Dr. Jawad Nasim, Mr. Markus Lämmermann, Mr. Mouayad Zuraik and Ms. Anthea Julia von Glahn 

Teaching Topics

The Global Classroom is directed towards undergraduate pharmacy students and related disciplines. We teach history and philosophy of chemistry, reaction kinetics and general and inorganic chemistry. The courses are taught in English.
